Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 1 pound ribeye steak thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion sliced
  • 1 cup provolone cheese shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Dough
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 egg large egg beaten for egg wash

Method

Prepare the Filling
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the sliced ribeye steak to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Assemble the Stromboli
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Spread the steak and vegetable mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese over the filling.
  3. Carefully roll the dough over the filling, starting from one long side, and pinch the edges to seal. Place the Stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the Stromboli
  1. Brush the top of the Stromboli with the beaten egg for a golden finish. Cut slits in the top of the dough to allow steam to escape.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
Serve
  1. Let the Stromboli cool for a few minutes before slicing into pieces. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as marinara.
