  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef by slicing flank steak against the grain into strips about half an inch thick.
  2. In a bowl, coat the beef strips evenly with cornstarch.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Fry the coated beef in batches for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy; transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds, then add sliced bell peppers and stir-fry for another 3 minutes.
  6. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili flakes to the pan along with the fried beef; stir to combine and heat through for about 2 minutes.
