Description

French Dip Sandwiches are a savory delight, featuring tender, slow-cooked beef nestled in warm, crusty French rolls. Each sandwich is drenched in rich au jus, delivering an explosion of flavor perfect for game days or cozy evenings at home. This easy-to-follow recipe will impress family and friends alike, making it a go-to comfort food for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 4 French rolls (6 inches each)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Season the beef with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the roast until browned on all sides (about 4 minutes per side). Transfer to a roasting pan.
  3. Sauté onions in the same skillet until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Pour the onion mixture over the roast and cover tightly with foil. Roast for 3-4 hours or until fork-tender.
  5. Let the roast rest for 15 minutes, then slice against the grain. Strain the broth into a pot for au jus.
  6. Assemble sandwiches by filling rolls with sliced beef and spooning au jus over before serving warm.
