- Activate the yeast by warming the milk and mixing it with sugar and yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. Create a well in the center and add melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture.
- Mix until combined; knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Gently punch down the dough and fold in currants or raisins. Divide into equal portions (12-15) and shape into balls.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet; let rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before glazing with icing sugar.
