  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, warm milk, and melted butter. Mix well and add the beaten egg.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in an oiled bowl covered with a damp cloth for about 2 hours to rise.
  4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it. Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll the dough tightly from one edge into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place rolls in a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
