- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, warm milk, and melted butter. Mix well and add the beaten egg.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in an oiled bowl covered with a damp cloth for about 2 hours to rise.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it. Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly from one edge into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place rolls in a greased baking dish.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
