Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- While baking, mix shredded coconut with caramel sauce in a bowl until well-coated.
- Once brownies have cooled slightly (about ten minutes), spread the coconut-caramel mixture on top and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake for an additional five minutes to melt the chips slightly.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
