  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 4 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a large baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. 2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté onions and bell peppers until soft (about 5 minutes). Add steak, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned (another 5 minutes).
  3. 3. Layer four slices of sourdough in the baking dish. Top with half the steak mixture and half the provolone cheese. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  4. 4. Drizzle melted butter over the top layer of bread.
  5. 5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
