- 3/4 cup light brown sugar

- 2 tsp baking powder

- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan and sprinkle brown sugar evenly on the bottom.
- Arrange pineapple slices over the brown sugar in the pan, placing maraschino cherries in between if desired.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture alternately with milk until just combined.
- Pour the batter gently over the pineapple arrangement and bake for about 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before flipping onto a serving plate.
