  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets (about 1 lb)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil as needed

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Wash and cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces; mince garlic and grate ginger.
  2. Cook the chicken: Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook until golden brown (5-7 minutes on each side). Remove from skillet.
  3. Stir-fry: In the same skillet, add more oil if needed. Stir-fry minced garlic and ginger until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  4. Add broccoli: Toss in broccoli florets with half a cup of water; cover for three minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Make the sauce: Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar in a bowl. Pour over the chicken once the broccoli is ready.
  6. Combine & serve: Stir everything together to coat in sauce for about another minute before serving over rice or noodles.
