- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pistachios (toasted)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Gradually add flour and melted butter to the yeast mixture; stir until combined to form a sticky dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until elastic but slightly sticky.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- For the filling, mix chopped nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle (about ½ inch thick), spread melted butter over it, sprinkle the nut mixture evenly, then roll tightly into a log shape.
- Slice into buns and place them on a baking sheet; allow to rise again for about 30 minutes before baking at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
