  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the granulated and brown sugars.
  3. Let the mixture cool slightly before whisking in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, chili powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Allow to cool before slicing.
