  • 6 cups brioche or challah, torn into chunks
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup toasted hazelnuts, roughly chopped
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Layer torn bread in the baking dish, sprinkling half the chocolate chips and hazelnuts over the top.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread. Gently press down to help soak.
  5. Top with remaining chocolate chips and hazelnuts. Add extra cinnamon if desired.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown on top and set in the middle.
