  • 2 cups fresh cranberries (about 200g)
  • 1 cup orange juice (from about 2 oranges)
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 cup toasted walnuts (chopped, about 120g)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (150g)
  • 1/2 cup water (120ml)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Rinse cranberries under cold water and discard any mushy ones.
  2. Zest and juice the oranges. Set aside.
  3. In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast walnuts for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  4. In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, and cinnamon over medium heat. Stir until cranberries pop and mixture thickens (about 10 minutes).
  5. Remove from heat; stir in orange juice and zest. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  6. Fold in toasted walnuts just before serving.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
