Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder; gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  6. Press sprinkles or candies into the center of each cookie before baking.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft; let cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
