Granola bars are a perfect on-the-go snack that combines the wholesome goodness of oats, creamy peanut butter, and natural sweetness. These homemade delights are not only delicious but also highly customizable to suit your taste. Packed with energy-boosting ingredients, they make for an ideal breakfast or a satisfying treat anytime you need a pick-me-up.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
  • ½ cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 cup dried fruit (e.g., cranberries or raisins)
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or almonds)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, chopped nuts, and dried fruit until evenly combined.
  3. In another bowl, blend the peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) until smooth. Add a pinch of salt or cinnamon if desired.
  4. Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until well-coated.
  5. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow cooling completely before using parchment paper edges to lift out; slice into bars.
